InnerSight Psychotherapy is a private behavioral health practice located in Canton, MA. We treat a variety of conditions but highlight our experience treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship, and adjustment issues.

Meet Lisa and Heather

LICSW

Lisa MacDonald, LICSW has been in clinical practice working with adults for over 20 years. Lisa's clinical skills are a good match for those dealing with anxiety and depression, grief and loss conflicts, past and recent traumas, as well as relationship issues. Lisa has many years of
experience working with individuals in the Fire Services, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services and she is also a Star Behavioral Health Provider for military connected individuals and
their families. She is certified in Critical Incident Crisis Intervention and Acute Traumatic Stress Management. She is also the Team Clinician for the Bristol-Norfolk Critical Incident Stress Management Team.

LICSW, LADC

Heather Gould, LICSW, LADC is both a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Heather earned a Master’s Degree from Boston University and she later went on to complete a fellowship at Harvard Medical School Division of Addictions. She has a broad range of professional experience in a variety of settings including inpatient medical hospital units, outpatient mental health agencies and substance abuse clinics as well as private practice settings. Heather is very experienced in treating depression, anxiety disorders, grief, trauma, relationship issues and chemical addition.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, involves efforts to examine and change unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns. CBT can help a person learn better ways of coping and become more effective in their life.

Life Coaching

Life Coaching is different from psychotherapy. Life coaching does not focus on symptoms but rather helps to identify strengths and weaknesses and overcome obstacles.

Mindfulness Therapy

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (mindfulness therapy) is a type of psychotherapy that combines cognitive therapy, meditation, and mindfulness. This type of therapy was meant to build upon cognitive therapy, integrating it with a program to form mindfulness-based stress reduction.

Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy, or EMDR, is a specialized treatment intended to relieve some of the distress associated with memories of trauma. This technique used in therapy can help the brain process traumatic memories more adaptively and facilitates adaptive resolutions.

How do I find a counselor?

Contact our office and we can set up a time to consult with you.

How long is a therapy session?

Typically a session will last 50 minutes.

How often should I go to therapy?

This is different from person-to-person. Typically, people attend therapy once a week. However, for those who have been going to therapy for a while, they might only come in once a month. While those who are in more severe circumstances attend twice a week.

What insurance do you accept?

Yes, we accept insurance from most providers. If your insurance is not listed, you can call your provider to see if they will reimburse you for paying out-of-pocket.

What if I don’t have insurance?

We have a sliding scale arrangement we can set up with you.
